In its 20 years of operation, Florida’s Vision Quest has been recognized with many awards for program excellence and achievement such as: the National Points of Light Award, the Walt Disney Community Service Awards, the Channel 13 - Shining Stars, etc. But FVQ’s achievements are not measured in awards. FVQ’s achievements are measured in the success of the children we serve.
They are reflected in the behavioral, social and academic excellence of students. Vision Quest’s achievements are also measured in the 200,000+ children’s lives that have been impacted by this life changing program. Schools like Warfield and Molly E. Ray Elementary whose measured performance improved from an ‘F’ to an “A”, with the help of Vision Quest’s ‘Full School Vision Intervention’, which ensures that every child was provided with the tools critical for social and academic success, clear vision.
This year Vision Quest vision screened more than 150,000 children, received over 14,000 qualified referrals, provided over 9,500 comprehensive vision exams, and dispensed more than 10,000 pairs of beautiful new eyeglasses. Our Mobile Vision Clinics visited more than 250 schools, in some of Florida’s most rural areas, providing the gift of sight to over 8,500 children.
These successes are made possible thanks to our dedicated staff, hundreds of committed volunteers, the wisdom of state legislators and the generosity of so many wonderful donors. Special thanks are given to our network of eye care professionals who collectively donated over $741,600 in pro-bono vision services this year alone.GET INVOLVED
