Eye Didn’t Know That
Research indicates that 80% of learning is visual from birth to the age of 12.
1 out of 4 children are born with vision problems significant enough to affect learning.
Research shows that up to 85% of Title One students and academically and behaviorally at- risk children have vision problems
that go undetected or untreated.
Without treatment vision disorders can lead to issues in childhood development, learning performances, self- esteem, academic
achievement, high school dropout rates, and juvenile delinquency.
7 out of 10 adjudicated juveniles have undiagnosed vision problems.
Some vision disorders can lead to blindness if not treated early enough.
There are many signs that may be indicators that your child needs vision care. Some of these are: squinting of the eyes,
holding reading material close to the face, headaches, poor performance in school or activities, rubbing of the eyes,
and many more.
